Disaster Dispatcher

Virtual opportunity to coordinate local response teams that provide basic comfort and care to families after home fires and other disasters.

Responsibilities:

• Dispatch activate disaster responders and monitor the response to ensure appropriate resources are made available.
• May be required to monitor activity across multiple responses.
• Notify Public Affairs, Health, and Mental Health Services when needed.
• Document incident information.
• Attends regularly scheduled team meetings as required by Chapter/Region.

Time Commitment:

• Minimum 4 on-call shifts per month

Qualifications:

• Reliable access to phone, computer, and internet when on-call
• Comfortable using and learning new technology
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in complex, rapidly changing and stressful situations
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
