    Descrição

    The Chronic Pain Project | Portland, OR | Remote | ~5 hours/month

    About Us

The Chronic Pain Project creates visibility for artists living with chronic pain through curated exhibitions, workshops, and community programming. We serve approximately 60 artists internationally, empowering them to tell their own stories while educating communities through authentic lived experiences.

We're a just-over-a-year-old nonprofit built on values of authenticity, creativity, empathy, community, and dignity. Everyone living with relevant health conditions is welcome to participate—we don't jury artwork.

    What You'll Do

Help keep our digital presence current and accessible. This role involves:

    • Updating our online gallery with new artwork and artist information
    • Maintaining our events page with current exhibitions and programming
    • Highlighting active calls for artists and upcoming opportunities
    • Making sure exhibit information stays current
    • Designing and implementing a press kit page on our website with media resources, organizational information, and downloadable materials
    • Occasional content updates as programs evolve

Right now, we need someone who can help us catch up on updates that have been piling up, then maintain things going forward.

    What We're Looking For

    • Experience with Squarespace (this is essential—you should feel comfortable navigating the platform)
    • Canva experience is a plus but not required
    • Alignment with our mission of creating space for artists with chronic pain
    • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
    • Comfortable with remote, flexible work
    • Understanding that our community includes people with varying abilities and access needs
    • Must be located in the US or Canada

    Time Commitment

Approximately 5 hours per month, with flexibility around your schedule and energy levels. Some months may require a bit more time, others less.

    Why This Matters

Our website is often the first place people discover our artists' work. By keeping it current, you're directly helping artists gain visibility and helping people with chronic pain feel less alone in their experiences.

    To Apply

    • A brief note telling us about your experience with Squarespace and why this work resonates with you
    • Your resume
    • Your availability over the next few months

A background check may be required as part of our volunteer onboarding process.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If you're living with chronic pain or disability yourself, we especially encourage you to apply—lived experience is valuable here.

The Chronic Pain Project is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all volunteers and participants.
