    Descrição

Embrace Abilities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, is seeking a volunteer with business or nonprofit planning experience to help develop a clear, compelling business plan that will make sponsors, donors, and grantmakers confident investing in our free, inclusive programs for children, teens, and young adults with different abilities (ages 3–21) and their families.

Embrace Abilities is a family-founded, family-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children, teens, and young adults with different abilities (ages 3–21) and their families across the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We provide 100% free, inclusive, community-based programs such as:

    • Little Legends – Early peer connections & social-emotional learning for ages 3–11
    • Legend Makers – Transition-age skill building & community participation for ages 12–21
    • Sibshops – Evidence-based sibling support using the national Sibshops model
    • Coffee with Caregivers – Facilitated caregiver mental health & resource navigation groups
    • Parent Ambassador-Led Meetups – Peer-led park meetups and informal gatherings
    • Community Outreach & Sensory Calm Down Tent – Access, awareness, and inclusion at community events
    • Embrace the Journey – A family-centered initiative supporting resilience, connection, and hope along the disability journey

To sustain and grow this work, we are seeking a Volunteer Business/Strategic Planning Advisor to help us create a clear, realistic business plan we can share with sponsors, donors, and other stakeholders.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to use their professional skills to strengthen a small, growing nonprofit and help us become more “investment-ready.”

    • Review our current programs, impact highlights, and basic financials
    • Clarify our revenue and funding strategy (sponsorships, donations, grants, events, in-kind support)
    • Outline a simple 1–3 year business/strategic plan aligned with our mission and 2025 sponsorship goals
    • Define key goals, milestones, and basic budget projections
    • Shape a concise, stakeholder-ready plan we can share with sponsors, donors, and partners

    Qualifications

You may be a good fit if you have experience in one or more of the following:

    • Business planning, strategic planning, or nonprofit planning
    • Finance, operations, or management/strategy consulting
    • Nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or program development
    • MBA student, recent graduate, or professional with relevant coursework

Nice to have (but not required):
