Office & Member Support Volunteer

Office Volunteers, what we call "Call Responders" are the heart of our office — the friendly voice and face that members and volunteers turn to when they need help. In this role, you'll volunteer in our Petaluma office alongside our two staff members, answering phones and emails and entering members' requests into our system, whether that's a ride, tech support, or a handyperson task. No two shifts look the same. It's a great way to get to know the Village community and see firsthand how your contribution makes a difference.

What you'll do:

• Answer phone calls and emails in the VNP office
• Help members connect with volunteers for rides, tech support, and handyperson services
• Pitch in on whatever's needed that day — from writing birthday cards to welcoming prospective members and volunteers
• Work alongside our two staff members as part of the daily office team

What you'll bring:

• Comfort with everyday tech tools (Google Suite including Google Voice, email and our database)
• A warm, helpful phone and in-person manner
• Sensitivity to the needs of members and fellow volunteers
• Curiosity about VNP's mission and a willingness to learn how the Village works

Why volunteer with us: This is a welcoming, low-pressure way to get involved and make a real difference in someone's day. For volunteers who want to grow, there's real room to move into greater responsibility over time, including team leadership — but no prior experience or leadership goals are required to get started.

Time commitment: In-person shifts are Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, 10am - 1pm or 1:00–3:00 PM. Once trained, there is an opportunity to work remotely on Wednesday or Friday from 10am - 1pm. We're flexible and happy to work around travel, family, and other commitments. Location: VNP office, Petaluma, CA
