The role
Lead our fundraising strategy and execution as a volunteer board officer. You’ll design the annual development plan, build and steward a donor pipeline, lead grant applications, and shape sponsorships and campaigns that fund our programs.
What you’ll do
- Own the annual fundraising plan (individual, corporate, grants, events) aligned to program goals.
- Build a donor/sponsor pipeline: research, outreach, cultivation, stewardship, and retention.
- Oversee grant calendar (prospecting, drafting, submission, and reporting with staff/volunteers).
- Create 2–3 thematic campaigns/year (e.g., “Upskill 100,” GivingTuesday).
- Set simple KPIs and reporting (raised $, # new donors, retention, # grant subs/awards, # partnerships).
- Recruit/lead a small volunteer fundraising team; collaborate with Marketing/Programs.
- Advise board on fundraising policy, ethics, and donor recognition.
You bring
- 1+ years in nonprofit fundraising, corporate partnerships, sales, or grant writing (board experience a plus).
- Demonstrated success closing gifts/sponsorships or winning grants.
- Clear, concise writing; comfortable with outreach and pitch calls.
- Organized, data-aware; able to set targets and track progress.
Nice to have
- Experience with CRMs, grant portals, or peer-to-peer platforms.
- Network in philanthropy, tech, workforce development, or education.
Commitment & support
