St. Mark Community Education Program (SMCEP) runs ESOL and citizenship classes. Our mission is to help immigrants acquire the skills and citizenship status necessary to thrive, enrich their communities, and fully participate in society.
In addition to our classes, we also run conversation groups that provide an opportunity for students with a moderate level of English to increase their vocabulary, learn American idioms and slang, and develop greater fluency.
Each group meets weekly for an hour. Weekday classes run from 6 PM to 7 PM. We may also have a Saturday morning option.
We are seeking motivated volunteers to serve as Conversation Group Facilitators. These are remote volunteer positions and training will be provided. We welcome seniors, retirees, corporate volunteers, students, and other interested parties to apply.
