Guatemala | June 10–18, 2026
Partners of the Americas is seeking a dedicated and culturally responsive volunteer mentor/chaperone to accompany a cohort of high school students participating in the Guatemala Leadership & Language Exchange Program in June 2026.
This is a meaningful opportunity for an educator, youth mentor, or student-facing professional who is passionate about youth development, intercultural learning, and international education. The selected mentor will play an important role in supporting students throughout the travel experience while helping foster a safe, engaging, and reflective learning environment.
About the Program
The Guatemala Leadership & Language Exchange Program is an immersive international experience for high school students ages 15–18 from the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The program is designed to strengthen leadership, cross-cultural understanding, Spanish language practice, and global citizenship through educational visits, cultural exchange, and community engagement in Guatemala.
Role Summary
The mentor/chaperone will accompany students during the program in Guatemala and serve as a supportive adult presence throughout the experience. This person will help reinforce expectations, promote student well-being, and contribute to a positive group dynamic before and during travel.
