Future Paid Contract Potential
Position Overview
Join our mission to build a high-impact, low-stigma digital self-help platform for teens and young adults. This platform provides actionable, culturally sensitive resources for critical scenarios. These include immigrant background challenges, autism masking, sexual assault, and domestic violence. You will bridge the gap between mental health crises and professional help.
This leadership role begins as a volunteer position with highly guaranteed future compensation. Transition to paid contractual work is secured through our fiscal sponsor, Givinga, utilizing their HR and payroll services.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Architecture the web application platform and establish coding standards.
- UI/UX Oversight: Direct the implementation of accessible, highly intuitive, and trauma-informed user interfaces.
- Frontend Development: Code critical core features and oversee the integration of design mockups.
- Accessibility Compliance: Enforce WCAG 2.1 AA standards for neurodivergent and stressed users.
- Privacy Engineering: Architectural standards/ oversight for strict data-privacy features.
- Collaboration: Partner with clinical advisors to align technical features with psychological safety.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, React, and web architecture design.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to guide technical decisions or manage open-source codebases.
- Empathy-Driven Design: Understanding of trauma-informed UX principles and inclusive design patterns.
- Commitment: Ability to dedicate 5–10 hours per week remotely for at least 6 months.
- Sensitivity: High emotional intelligence and respect for confidential, deeply sensitive topics.
