You are a thoughtful, ethical researcher who believes that communities are experts in their own lived experiences. You are passionate about participatory research, capacity-building, and mentoring emerging researchers. You are excited by the opportunity to share your expertise in ways that empower young women to be the historians, guardians, and social scientists of their own communities and traditions. Our ideal candidate demonstrates:

    • Expertise in ethnographic, qualitative, and/or participatory research methods
    • Experience designing and administering surveys, leading focus groups, and conducting interviews
    • Strong understanding of research ethics and community-based research principles
    • Experience working in international, cross-cultural, or community-based research contexts
    • Experience teaching, training, or mentoring emerging researchers
    • Familiarity with youth participatory action research (YPAR) or feminist research methods
    • Experience working with girls or young women

The Assistant Program Director will support the development and delivery of a training course for young women serving as Research Fellows in Nepal. Responsibilities include:

    • Developing a practical training curriculum in ethnographic research methods
    • Teaching research fellows how to design student-, household-, and community-level surveys
    • Training fellows to conduct focus groups, interviews, and observational research
    • Introducing additional ethnographic tools such as field notes and storytelling-based methods
    • Meeting virtually with research fellows abroad to deliver training, mentorship, and feedback
    • Supporting fellows as they apply methods in real-world community research projects

We value your expertise and your commitment to inclusive research. As a member of our team, you will:

    • Collaborate with a mission-driven, international education and research team
    • Apply your research expertise to build local capacity and leadership among young women
    • Contribute to an innovative, sustainable training model with long-term community impact
