- Expertise in ethnographic, qualitative, and/or participatory research methods
- Experience designing and administering surveys, leading focus groups, and conducting interviews
- Strong understanding of research ethics and community-based research principles
- Experience working in international, cross-cultural, or community-based research contexts
- Experience teaching, training, or mentoring emerging researchers
- Familiarity with youth participatory action research (YPAR) or feminist research methods
- Experience working with girls or young women
The Assistant Program Director will support the development and delivery of a training course for young women serving as Research Fellows in Nepal. Responsibilities include:
- Developing a practical training curriculum in ethnographic research methods
- Teaching research fellows how to design student-, household-, and community-level surveys
- Training fellows to conduct focus groups, interviews, and observational research
- Introducing additional ethnographic tools such as field notes and storytelling-based methods
- Meeting virtually with research fellows abroad to deliver training, mentorship, and feedback
- Supporting fellows as they apply methods in real-world community research projects
