New York City Chapter President (Volunteer Board Position)

Expectations of Board Members:

• Commit to a 2-year term
• Participate in virtual board meetings, respond to WGIRLS communications, and engage in discussions
• Contribute to decision-making processes during board meetings
• Participate actively in fundraising efforts
• Collaborate in good faith with other board members to achieve organizational goals
• Support national campaigns and chapter initiatives
• Represent the organization as a positive ambassador within the community

Responsibilities of NYC Chapter President:

• Lead and oversee all NYC chapter operations, including meetings and events, ensuring alignment with WGIRLS’ national mission and strategy
• Recruit, onboard, and support the NYC chapter board and volunteer members
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and point of contact for the NYC chapter
• Plan and oversee chapter events, fundraisers, and community outreach initiatives in partnership with board members and members
• Partner with the National Board to align local programming with national
• goals
• Monitor chapter budget and fundraising progress in collaboration with the Treasurer
