    Descrição

    Mission / About Us:

Blueprint for Womanhood (BFW) is a culturally grounded rites-of-passage program serving Black girls and their families in Metro Phoenix. Our mission is to support Black girls in developing confidence, leadership skills, cultural awareness, and a strong sense of self as they transition from Black girlhood into Black womanhood. BFW is the flagship impact program of Life Paradigms, Inc., a women-led nonprofit dedicated to educating and empowering Black youth and their families through leadership development, culture, advocacy, and the arts.

    Role Overview

We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer to support Blueprint for Womanhood’s fundraising and sustainability efforts.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of resourcing culturally grounded community work and who wants to contribute strategically to a 31-year legacy program. You will help identify funding opportunities and craft compelling proposals that communicate our impact, vision, and commitment to Black girls and their families.

This is a soft-launch role, meaning systems and grant infrastructure are actively being strengthened. The volunteer will collaborate closely with leadership to help refine grant processes, messaging, and funding strategy.

    What You’ll Do

    Grant Research & Prospecting

    • Identify aligned local, regional, and national grant opportunities
    • Research foundations and funding partners that support youth development, Black-led initiatives, arts and culture, and leadership programming
    • Track deadlines, eligibility requirements, and submission details

    Grant Writing & Proposal Development

    • Draft grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting narratives
    • Translate program outcomes, community impact, and cultural grounding into clear, compelling language
    • Support development of budgets and required attachments in collaboration with leadership

    Grant Strategy & Systems Support

    • Help build or refine grant calendars and tracking systems
    • Support reporting processes for awarded grants
    • Assist with gathering program data and impact language for future applications

Who This Role Is Great For

    • Experienced or emerging grant writers seeking meaningful nonprofit experience
    • Development professionals looking to support Black-led, community-rooted work
    • Strong writers who care deeply about equity, youth empowerment, and cultural integrity
    • Individuals interested in helping strengthen long-term sustainability for grassroots organizations

Skills & Experience (Preferred, Not Required)

    • Previous grant writing experience (nonprofit, academic, or freelance)
    • Strong persuasive and narrative writing skills
    • Ability to synthesize program data and impact into compelling proposals
    • Organized and detail-oriented with strong deadline management
    • Comfortable working collaboratively in a growing organization

    Time Commitment

Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week, depending on grant cycles.

We value consistency, clarity, and follow-through over volume.

    What You’ll Gain

    • Hands-on experience supporting a 31-year legacy program
    • Meaningful contribution to the empowerment of Black girls and families
    • Portfolio-ready grant proposals and development experience
    • Direct collaboration with leadership in shaping funding strategy
    • Connection to a Black-led, women-led organization grounded in culture and community
