Commitment: 12 months, flexible monthly time commitment (meet your matched Love Box family 1/mos for a year!)
Location: Jackson County, Missouri (families are located throughout Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties – this posting is specific to Jackson County)
About the Role:
Love Box Leaders play a vital role in building consistent, intentional relationships with foster families in our community. As a Love Box Leader, you will be matched with a foster family in Jackson County and commit to walking alongside them by providing monthly support, encouragement, and connection.
This is more than just a volunteer role—it’s a chance to show up consistently for children and caregivers who need to know they are seen, supported, and not alone.
What You’ll Do:
- Commit to serving one foster family for a minimum of 12 months
- Deliver a monthly “Love Box” filled with practical items, encouragement, and resources tailored to the family’s needs
- Build relationships by checking in regularly, showing up consistently, and being a source of encouragement
- Partner with your matched family to celebrate wins, navigate challenges, and provide tangible and emotional support
- Connect with KCMO Angels staff for ongoing training, guidance, and support
Time Commitment:
- Approx. 4–6 hours per month
- Flexible around your schedule and the family’s availability
Who We’re Looking For:
- Individuals, families, or small groups with a heart for serving foster care families
- Consistent, reliable, and willing to commit for at least 12 months
- Able to provide encouragement, creativity, and support tailored to the unique needs of the family
- Volunteers must complete an application, background check, and training
