    Description

Organization: KCMO Angels (Jackson County, MO)

Commitment: 12 months, flexible monthly time commitment (meet your matched Love Box family 1/mos for a year!)

Location: Jackson County, Missouri (families are located throughout Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties – this posting is specific to Jackson County)

    About the Role:

Love Box Leaders play a vital role in building consistent, intentional relationships with foster families in our community. As a Love Box Leader, you will be matched with a foster family in Jackson County and commit to walking alongside them by providing monthly support, encouragement, and connection.

This is more than just a volunteer role—it’s a chance to show up consistently for children and caregivers who need to know they are seen, supported, and not alone.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Commit to serving one foster family for a minimum of 12 months
    • Deliver a monthly “Love Box” filled with practical items, encouragement, and resources tailored to the family’s needs
    • Build relationships by checking in regularly, showing up consistently, and being a source of encouragement
    • Partner with your matched family to celebrate wins, navigate challenges, and provide tangible and emotional support
    • Connect with KCMO Angels staff for ongoing training, guidance, and support

    Time Commitment:

    • Approx. 4–6 hours per month
    • Flexible around your schedule and the family’s availability

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Individuals, families, or small groups with a heart for serving foster care families
    • Consistent, reliable, and willing to commit for at least 12 months
    • Able to provide encouragement, creativity, and support tailored to the unique needs of the family
    • Volunteers must complete an application, background check, and training

    The Impact:

Love Box Leaders create meaningful, lasting change by wrapping community support around foster families. Your consistent presence can help reduce caregiver burnout, stabilize placements, and remind children in care that they are deeply valued.
