*Urgent Need!* Volunteer Treasurer

Treasurer needed for a Community-oriented Environmental Organization

Friends of Woodlands and Waters (aka Friends of the Assabet River, Oxbow, and Great Meadows NWR, Inc.)

is seeking a Treasurer, immediately. We are an all volunteer 501(c)(3), which serves as the Friends organization supporting three US Fish & Wildlife National Wildlife Refuges in the West of Boston area: Assabet River, Great Meadows, and Oxbow.

The Treasurer is a member of the our Board of Directors. Board meetings are held monthly, virtually. The Treasurer should plan to attend board meetings whenever possible, provide a brief summary of financial activity over the prior month.

• Prepare accounting records by compiling and analyzing account information in QuickBooks.
• Reconcile organization's financial records to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Prepare and file Massachusetts' annual income tax return.
• Prepare and file Massachusetts' quarterly sales and use tax return.
• Present financial statements to monthly and annual board meetings with sufficient explanation.
• Provide annual tax-deductible letter.
• Issue checks according to board's authorization.
• Work with a board member for check deposit, mail processing, etc.
• Maintain annual certifications for some charitable donation platforms like Benevity, etc.
• Assist with grant applications as necessary.
• Support organization outreach events.
• Support organization fundraising events.
