This is an opportunity to use your leadership, nonprofit, business, or executive experience to make a direct impact on individuals and families affected by addiction while helping expand access to life-changing treatment.

The Board Chair serves as the chief volunteer leader of the organization, providing strategic direction, ensuring sound governance, supporting board development, and fostering relationships with donors, community partners, and treatment providers. The Chair works closely with fellow board members to advance the organization's mission while ensuring the nonprofit remains financially sustainable and operationally effective.

    • Maintain donor stewardship by ensuring donor records are current and sending acknowledgments and thank-you communications.
    • Represent Step 1 Recovery Resources within the Charleston community and strengthen relationships with treatment facilities and referral partners.
    • Serve on the Network & Facility Committee by visiting prospective treatment providers and referral agencies and presenting recommendations to the Board.

    Financial & Organizational Oversight

    • Collaborate with the Treasurer and Board to review annual budgets and financial plans.
    • Review and sign annual tax filings and other required organizational documents.
    • Ensure required nonprofit registrations, business licenses, and governance documents remain current and compliant.
