Role Overview
As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you will be a driving force in helping Blue Barn sustain and grow its mission. Your efforts will directly support the care of resident animals, operational needs, and a range of educational and community-driven programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Campaign Development: Design and lead both digital and in-person fundraising campaigns to generate sustainable contributions.
- Event Fundraising: Collaborate on strategy and fundraising elements for events like the Summertime Social, yard sales, auctions, and other benefit-focused gatherings.
- Community & Network Outreach: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and supporters.
- Storytelling & Communications: Work with our team to craft and share the stories of our residents through newsletters, social media, or donor updates.
- Donor Stewardship: Help develop donor communication and recognition programs—thanking individuals and ensuring long-term engagement.
- Progress Reporting: Share regular updates on fundraising outcomes, and track goals and metrics with transparency.
Qualifications & Fit
- Proven experience in fundraising and campaign strategy, preferably for nonprofits.
- Passion for animal welfare, humane education, and ethical sanctuaries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling ability, and community networking.
- Organized and self-directed—able to manage projects with minimal oversight.
- Comfort with a flexible schedule (virtual and occasional on-site time, if based near Creswell, OR), dedicating approximately 10 hours per month.
