As a Volunteer Fundraiser, you will be a driving force in helping Blue Barn sustain and grow its mission. Your efforts will directly support the care of resident animals, operational needs, and a range of educational and community-driven programming.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Campaign Development: Design and lead both digital and in-person fundraising campaigns to generate sustainable contributions.
    • Event Fundraising: Collaborate on strategy and fundraising elements for events like the Summertime Social, yard sales, auctions, and other benefit-focused gatherings.
    • Community & Network Outreach: Cultivate relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and supporters.
    • Storytelling & Communications: Work with our team to craft and share the stories of our residents through newsletters, social media, or donor updates.
    • Donor Stewardship: Help develop donor communication and recognition programs—thanking individuals and ensuring long-term engagement.
    • Progress Reporting: Share regular updates on fundraising outcomes, and track goals and metrics with transparency.

    Qualifications & Fit

    • Proven experience in fundraising and campaign strategy, preferably for nonprofits.
    • Passion for animal welfare, humane education, and ethical sanctuaries.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, storytelling ability, and community networking.
    • Organized and self-directed—able to manage projects with minimal oversight.
    • Comfort with a flexible schedule (virtual and occasional on-site time, if based near Creswell, OR), dedicating approximately 10 hours per month.

    What You’ll Gain

    • A meaningful leadership role in supporting rescued animals and an emerging sanctuary.
    • Experience forging community partnerships and elevating humane education efforts.
    • Opportunity to shape Blue Barn’s sustainable future and strategic growth.
