Biomed Research & Process Development Volunteer

Purpose of the Position:

Project C.U.R.E.'s ability to provide low-resource communities with tested biomedical device donations is dependent on relationships (especially with people and organizations who already have the technical skills needed) and systems that support our biomedical testers and make it as easy as possible to test and complete devices.

This role is focused on biomedical testing volunteers, making their time as enjoyable and smooth as possible, so they choose to return. It provides support to the Director of Biomedical Technology in building and maintaining relationships with skilled parties, developing new organizational systems, and improving the systems currently in place.

Tasks:

• Researching, inputting, and maintaining information about biomedical technical staff and organizations we do or would like to partner with, around each of our warehouses. (R/OS)
• Initial outreach to those people/organizations, organizing Teams meetings. (R/OS)
• Developing/trialing systems, processes, and documents to make finding biomedical accessories/consumables faster and easier. (OS)
• Packing and shipping of items are required at other Project C.U.R.E. warehouses. (OS)
• Drafting internal testing processes and checksheets for devices (R/OS).

(R/OS): Can be done either remotely or On-Site at the Houston warehouse.

(OS): Some attendance required On-Site at the Houston warehouse
