Palmetto Conservation Foundation

Acerca de

The mission of the Palmetto Conservation Foundation is to conserve South Carolina's natural and cultural resources, preserve historic landmarks, and promote outdoor recreation through trails and greenways.

Founded in 1989, PCF is a statewide, non-profit organization with offices in Columbia and Glendale (Spartanburg County). We assist South Carolina's communities to grow and prosper while maintaining local character and quality of life. This involves protecting natural areas through land trust assistance or through local government programs, preserving Revolutionary War battlefields, and developing greenways and the Palmetto Trail.

In 2007, PCF began to focus more attention on teaching outdoor skills and enticing people to explore the Palmetto Trail and other natural areas in South Carolina. A wide array of outings, new educational programs, outdoor centers, and the Glendale Outdoor Leadership School are the tools we‘ve developed to help people become more comfortable and familiar with the spectacular natural adventures the Palmetto State has to offer.

In addition to our 3 major program areas, we have a small book publishing division, PCF Press that provides historical, educational, and recreational titles.
