Create Democracy

No matter how fairly we draw district lines, one of the major parties has an advantage in almost every district, and that party primary is the only election that matters. Until we eliminate partisan primaries, running for office and voting in each district's dominant party primary is the closest we can come to full democracy. Create Democracy reaches out to voters in states that have single-party , partisan, primary elections and encourages them to vote in their district's dominant party primary - the election that matters. Voting in separate primary elections fosters partisan polarization and division. When every candidate faces every voter in every election, legislators are encouraged to reach across party lines and work for consensus.
