    About Public Outreach

Public Outreach is a fundraising + marketing agency built for charities and nonprofits. We design campaigns that don’t just raise money, they grow communities, deepen supporter relationships, and power long-term impact.

From street and door fundraising to integrated digital + telemarketing campaigns, we bring decades of experience helping organizations acquire donors, grow sustainable monthly programs, and strengthen brand trust.

We’re proud to partner with leading organizations in health, environment, human rights, and social justice. Together, we raise millions each year and build movements that last.

As we continue to grow across the United States, we’re looking for someone excited to contribute to our mission.

    About the Role

As our Payroll + HR Specialist, you’ll help ensure that our staff are supported through accurate payroll, thoughtful HR practices, and compliance across multiple states. This will support growth as our American operations look to expand significantly in 2026 and beyond.

You’ll work closely with both our U.S. and Canadian teams as a multifaceted resource, helping bring consistency, clarity, and best practices to a growing, multi-state workforce.

This is an ideal role for someone interested in providing direct support to frontline staff and business services teams as a subject matter expert. We are looking to support growth with a detail-oriented, systems-minded individual who is motivated by supporting teams doing meaningful work.

    • Complete required federal and state reporting
    • Respond to payroll and HR-related questions with clarity, accuracy, and urgency
    • Support post-payroll processes (e.g., resolving failed deposits, unclaimed wages, stale-dated cheques)
    • Assist with HR matters, including leave management, policy interpretation, and employee support

    Process Improvement & Scaling (20%)

    • Help shape and refine payroll and HR processes to support a growing workforce
    • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and documentation
    • Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance

    • Provide support to Payroll, HR, and Finance teams as needed
    • Contribute to projects that strengthen operational consistency across North America
