Social Media Manager – Role Overview
A high profile non-profit in the human rights space is seeking a highly creative Social Media Manager to be a key collaborator with its digital presence. This role is designed for a visual storyteller – someone who understands how to craft premium, narrative driven content that inspires, engages and advances our core mission. We’re looking for the right person to help us shape our content across social platforms – blending design with social media insights to drive engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate on social media strategy with Creative Director aligned with organizational priorities and campaigns
- Conceptualize and produce premium, story-driven content across platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
- Design visually compelling assets using Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, After Effects, InDesign & Photoshop)
- Work from templates provided to create motion graphics and dynamic edits in After Effects / Premiere Pro, and photo templates in Photoshop and InDesign.
- Collaborate and refine captions and copy that reflect our organizational voice
- Manage content calendars, publishing workflows, and platform optimization
- Monitor trends, cultural moments, and emerging formats
- Lead community engagement and audience interaction
- Track performance metrics and deliver insights to refine creative and strategy
Qualifications
- 4+ years managing social media for a brand, nonprofit, media company, or mission-driven organization
- Portfolio demonstrating high-quality visual and narrative content
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
- Experience creating motion graphics and social video
- Comfortable communicating and collaborating with photographers, filmmakers, designers, and editors
- Strong storytelling instincts (visual + written)
- Familiarity with social calendars, analytics and social management tools
- Ability to balance creativity with deadlines and strategic objectives
- Experience producing content tied to campaigns, events, or impact storytelling
- Not essential, but experience producing & filming content also preferred
