CIMA Consulting is a small firm in Charlottesville, VA providing clients with strategic insight and support through a range of deliverables. All our work furthers clients’ organizational capacity via fundraising, business development, and organizational design. Position Summary: CIMA Consulting is seeking a part-time teammate to support our firm’s initiatives. Associate Consultants are expected to be strong communicators and highly organized individuals who have interest and/or experience in fundraising, grant writing, and nonprofit management work. This Associate Consultant position is primarily responsible for research and supporting roles in CIMA Teams that contribute to our client engagements.

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Identifying client funding opportunities through online research, phone calls, and email follow-up
• Maintaining internal databases to track communications and development-related activities via Notion
• Drafting compelling narratives for letters of inquiry, proposals, and other collateral; working with clients to understand their organization and desired voice
• Supporting CIMA goals and meeting client expectations through careful internal tracking of progress, application deadlines, and reporting requirements
• Organizing and evaluating data for clients and for CIMA
• Providing logistical support to clients for meetings, including emails, calls, and other preparatory notes to ensure clients are prepared to meet with their stakeholders

Qualities and Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience in grant-writing and/or other development functions preferred
• Experience in a fast-moving, intellectual environment; ability to listen and collaborate effectively
• Proven ability to synthesize large amounts of information into compelling written collateral on deadline
• Experience using standard office software/platforms (Excel, Drive, Notion, etc.)
• A demonstrated appreciation for/commitment to the nonprofit sector
• Extremely organized and self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple deadlines
• Willing to take direction and ask thoughtful questions, then work independently to complete tasks
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Keen writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and a love of good writing
• Flexibility, dedication, and the ability to laugh at one’s self (and others, but only in a nice way)

Our team is primarily based in Charlottesville and surrounding areas, but we have a hybrid, flexible-work schedule. While our preference is for team members to be based in Charlottesville, qualified candidates wishing to work remotely will be considered.

Salary Range: $26-32 / hour

Benefits: 401K, Profit Share, Flexible PTO, PD/WFH Stipend
