    Descripción

JOIN Strategies is seeking a seasoned Social Media Video Producer to lead video production across campaigns to address America's broken healthcare system. This role is ideal for someone who is motivated by energizing the public around health justice, has strong production judgment, and is comfortable owning multiple overlapping projects with clear deliverables and timelines.

This is a contract role for 12 months, with the potential to extend.

The majority of this role will be dedicated to supporting one advocacy client with year-round production needs, alongside intermittent projects throughout the year. This role reports directly to a JOIN partner and works closely with client-side project leads, grassroots advocates, and movement leaders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Own day-to-day video production for a healthcare advocacy client
    • Lead production of video ads, short- (<2 minutes), and medium-length (4-8 minutes) videos, with volume increasing during key political moments and tapering during slower periods
    • Support large-scale video projects that require multi-day shoots, full crews, and longer post production timelines
    • Help ideate the creative direction and strategic vision for video ads and social video content
    • Lead all phases of production:
    • Pre-production: scripting, story development, shot lists, scheduling, logistics
    • Production: on-site producing, interviewing subjects, managing crew
    • Post-production: managing editors, reviewing cuts, providing clear feedback, and overseeing final delivery
    • Direct and manage freelance editors, videographers, and producers already in place; occasionally hire additional freelancers as needed
    • Manage an assigned production budget, including allocating spend across freelancers and vendors
    • Build and maintain a production calendar
    • Travel within NYC and Albany, with occasional travel to DC and other parts of New York State
    • Be available for productions that require evenings or weekends (events, rallies, hearings)

    Required Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience managing end-to-end video and ad production for advocacy, political campaign, or mission-driven projects
    • Strong ability to direct and manage editors, animators, and videographers
    • Creative thinker and storyteller comfortable ideating video concepts and establishing creative direction to match specific campaign goals and CTAs
    • Experience building and managing production calendars and workflows
    • Strong knowledge of production fundamentals—including lighting, framing, sound, and video editing software —enabling you to make informed creative decisions and clearly articulate direction
    • Confident field producing, including events and on-location shoots
    • Based in New York State; NYC strongly preferred

    Values and Fit

    • A commitment to healthcare reform and public-interest work is essential
    • Excited about working in a small, fast-moving agency environment, where roles are clearly defined but collaboration and adaptability are essential

    Compensation and Structure

    • Contract (12 months)
    • Up to $90,000 for the contract term, depending on experience
    • Travel expenses covered as required

    How to Apply

    • Please submit a resume, short (less than 300 word) description of why you’re interested in the role, and work samples to admin@joinstrategies.com. Applicants are encouraged to include relevant production documentation (e.g., call sheets, schedules, shot lists) demonstrating their experience producing and directing.

Deadline to submit: February 06, 2026

At JOIN Strategies we strive to increase diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in all elements of our work. We recruit, employ, train, compensate, and promote regardless of race, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity (including gender nonconformity and status as a transgender individual), age, physical or mental disability, post-secondary educational status, citizenship, genetic information, past, current, or prospective service in the uniformed services, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.
