    E-commerce Growth & Operations Manager (Subscription Brand)

    Type: Contract (Initial 3-Month Term)

    Hours: 30 hours/month (approx. 7–8 hrs/week)

    Compensation: $40/hour ($1,200/month)

    Location: Remote

    About One Girl Inspired

    One Girl Inspired is a tween-focused monthly subscription box designed to build confidence, creativity, and self-expression. Each box is curated around a theme and delivered directly to subscribers. The business operates on a single subscription model with no current plans for product line expansion.

    We are entering a stabilization and growth phase and are seeking a growth-oriented operator to take ownership of marketing, sourcing, execution, and performance tracking.

    This is not an assistant role. This is a hands-on growth and operations role within a structured subscription model.

    Role Overview

    The E-commerce Growth & Operations Manager will own the end-to-end execution of the monthly subscription cycle:

    Market Research → Theme Development → Product Sourcing → Margin Tracking → Platform Management → Marketing Execution → KPI Reporting

    The Founder/CEO will approve direction and budget but will not be involved in day-to-day implementation.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Market Research & Theme Development
      • Conduct monthly trend research relevant to tween retail and subscription gifting
      • Analyze competitor subscription offerings
      • Propose one fully developed theme per month (with 2–3 product concepts per item)
      • Align all proposals within defined margin and pricing guardrails
    • Product Sourcing & Margin Management
      • Source and vet vendors
      • Negotiate pricing and confirm delivery timelines
      • Ensure all products meet defined margin minimums
      • Track all product costs, shipping, and associated expenses
      • Maintain shared expense and margin dashboard
      • Forecast product purchasing within monthly budget cap
      • Obtain approval for purchases above predetermined thresholds
    • Subscription Platform Management
      • Update Subbly with product information
      • Maintain inventory accuracy
      • Write product descriptions optimized for clarity and conversion
      • Ensure subscription listings are accurate and aligned with current theme
    • Marketing Strategy & Execution
      • Develop monthly marketing calendar
      • Execute social media content strategy
      • Write and schedule email campaigns
      • Align messaging with retention and subscriber growth goals
      • Take and edit basic product photos (clean, consistent, brand-aligned)
      • Track marketing performance metrics
      • Adjust messaging based on data insights
      • KPI Ownership & Reporting

    This role includes clear accountability for growth metrics.

    The Manager will track and report monthly on:

    • Subscriber growth %
    • Retention rate
    • Monthly recurring revenue
    • Box margin %
    • Email open & click rates
    • Basic engagement metrics

    A monthly report and 60-minute review meeting will be required.

    Work Structure

    • 30 hours per month maximum
    • Flexible schedule; deadline-driven execution
    • Weekly written update required
    • Monthly KPI reporting required
    • Founder approves themes, budget, and major decisions
    • Initial 3-month contract with option to renew for an additional 3 months

    Success Metrics (First 90 Days)

    Success in the initial contract period will include:

    • Consistent monthly launch execution
    • Clear and accurate margin tracking
    • Stable product sourcing process
    • Improved retention clarity
    • Measurable subscriber growth trend
    • Reduced Founder involvement to under 10 hrs/month

    Ideal Candidate

    • 2+ years experience in ecommerce or subscription-based brands
    • Demonstrated understanding of margin management
    • Experience with email marketing platforms
    • Strong copywriting ability
    • Basic product photography capability
    • Strong understanding of customer retention in subscription models
    • Organized, data-aware, execution-driven
    • Comfortable working independently

    Preferred:

    • Experience in tween, gift, or lifestyle product categories
    • Familiarity with Subbly and Cratejoy

    This Role Is Not

    • A social media intern position
    • A purely creative content role
    • A strategy-only consulting position
    • A full-time leadership role

    It is a hybrid growth + execution role with measurable performance expectations.

    30 Minute Phone Interview with CEO

    • We will focus on your operational abilities, familiarity with ecommerce, project and task management, and confirmation of requirements.

    Task Assignment

    • The Task will be around technology troubleshooting and common issues with the fulfillment process. The assignment should not take more than 1 hour to complete

    1 Hour In-Person Interview with CEO

    • We will focus on your work style and values, discuss the task, getting to know each other, we will also look at the current product and shipping process.
    • Please note that fulfillment does occur in my home so this will be a highly selective process prior to this step.
