Intern for Documentary Community Outreach

PRODIGAL DAUGHTER is an award-winning documentary about a Latina immigrant artist whose emotional reunion with her Peruvian family opens up vital conversations across the U.S. about family bonds,identity, mental health, and what it means to belong.

We are looking for a motivated, outgoing, and friendly individual interested in gaining experience in documentary film outreach and impact. This internship offers the opportunity to build your skills while working directly with the film’s director and producer.

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in documentary, immigration, Latino/a/x, and women's issues
• Interest or familiarity with community organizing, nonprofit work, or grassroots campaigns
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Basic research skills (for identifying potential partners, events, or venues)
• Strong writing, speaking, and digital communication abilities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Based in the Western U.S. or a city with a high Latino population
• Social media content creation skills a plus
• Be available approximately 5 hours per week

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Researching and compiling lists of community groups, schools, and nonprofits for potential partnerships
• Contacting organizations on behalf of the filmmaker
• Tracking outreach efforts in Google Sheets
• Writing community outreach content. Assisting with e-newsletters or email marketing campaigns
• Assisting with social media posts for upcoming screenings. Creating or scheduling posts across Instagram and Facebook.
• Occasionally supporting other film screening tasks such as coordinating screenings or impact events (in-person or virtual)
