Upswell

Upswell unites storytelling and technology to stimulate different ways of seeing, understanding, and engaging with the urgent topics of our time. Our studio was founded with the intent to provide creative and software services to mission-driven institutions, cultural organizations, and social initiatives tackling 21st century challenges, particularly questions related to civic engagement, public history, social justice, climate change, science and technology, and the role of the arts in society. We've had the opportunity to work with as the Library of Congress (Washington, DC), the Gulf of Maine Research Institute (Portland, ME), Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY), the International Center of Photography (New York, NY), the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (Winnipeg, Canada), the Canadian Museum of History (Ottawa, Canada), the Canadian War Museum (Ottawa, Canada), Mobius Science Center (Spokane, WA), the University of Arizona Archaeological Mapping Lab (Tucson, AZ), Clemson University (Greenville, SC), the Chrysler Museum of Art (Norfolk, VA), and the Oregon Historical Society (Portland, OR).
