    Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM Hours Per Week: 35General Responsibilities:

    Under the supervision of the Program Director, coordinates programs and activities at the Senior Center. Assists with administrative and clerical tasks required in the routine operation of the Senior Center. Will provide information and referral as appropriate.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Prepares monthly activities calendar, information materials, and flyers of the senior center programs.
    • Assists Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director in developing appropriate group programs and securing consultants for programming
    • Attends community, agency, and staff meetings as designated.
    • Lead, and co-lead groups at the Center and/or virtually
    • Answers in-person and telephone inquiries and acts as troubleshooter, referring calls as required.
    • Assembles and records statistical data.
    • Types letters, reports, flyers and other printed materials, as needed.
    • Provides coverage on group outings.
    • Under supervision of the Program Director and/or Assistant Director, will provide information and referral as appropriate.
    • Responsible for completing program intakes with new members, revise client data in STARS and will keep up to date, thorough demographic information in STARS.
    • Responsible for coverage of the senior center in the Program Director’s and Assistant Director’s absence.
    • Places orders with food vendors and other suppliers.
    • Assists in maintaining inventory of food and supplies.
    • Fills in for absent staff as needed, including coverage of kitchen staff
    • Performs other related tasks as requested or assigned.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
    • Must be available to participate in coverage of "Cooling Center Hours", “Make Up Days” or other necessary responses for older adult center members when ordered by City funders, which may require working extended hours during the week or weekends.
    • Some prior group leadership experience.
    • Good writing/record keeping skills.
    • Must be computer literate, including ability to learn and use program-specific software.
    • Ability to communicate both spoken and written English.
    • Knowledge of Spanish, Russian or Chinese dialects may be helpful
    • May require heavy lifting including setting up tables, moving chairs, and other room set-ups for programs; climbing stairs may be required.
    • May be required to work evenings and/or weekends as assigned by the Program Director and/or Assistant Program Director.
