    We are searching for a Compliance Officer for an International Philanthropic Organization. This position is full-time, hybrid, and a permanent direct-hire role in Washington, DC.

    SCHEDULE: Full-time; 3 days/week on-site

    DURATION: Permanent. Direct-Hire

    SALARY: $85k to $95k

    Is This Your Dream Job? The Compliance Officer supports the administrative aspects of the Foundation’s grant programs. Our ideal Compliance Officer is a meticulous and highly organized professional with exceptional attention to detail. The candidate will possess strong organizational acumen, a discerning sense of discretion, and a collaborative mindset, fostering high-quality relationships and work internally. We seek a candidate with strong administrative skills who consistently demonstrates sound judgment and outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in grants compliance excellence and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

    Our Ideal Candidate:

    • Mission-driven approach with a strong commitment to the Foundation’s values and a high level of attention to detail.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, public administration, or a related field
    • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in grants administration, compliance, and administrative support, with a solid understanding of grant-making processes.
    • Experience with grants management software and CRM systems is strongly preferred.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and maintain accurate records.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise feedback on grant documentation and compliance issues.
    • A high degree of comfort working independently, with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
    • Knowledge of U.S. grant regulations and nonprofit compliance standards is a plus, but not required.

    How You'll Spend Your Day:

    • Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the Foundation’s grants database, ensuring all relevant grant documentation and updates are properly entered and maintained.
    • Work closely with the Programs Team to input information into the grants database.
    • Review grant letters, confirming that all necessary documentation is included.
    • Ensure that all grantee progress and financial reports are submitted in compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in grant agreements.
    • Provide compliance-related guidance and recommendations to the Programs Team to address any discrepancies or issues in documentation and grant execution.
    • Present to and work with executive-level leadership as needed.
    • Track and report on compliance metrics, identifying potential risks and providing solutions to mitigate them.
    • Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and systems.
    • Support the Programs Team with related administrative tasks, including the preparation of reports, meeting materials, and other documents related to grant management and compliance.
    • Assist with various administrative tasks as needed, including travel arrangements and scheduling support.
