    Descripción

Since 2002, Operation Homefront has been proudly serving America’s veteran and military families. Our organization provides relief and recurring family support programs and services throughout the year to help these families overcome short-term difficulties, so they don’t become long-term hardships.

Recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity oversight groups, 83 percent of Operation Homefront expenditures go directly to programs that support tens of thousands of military and veteran families each year.

    The Opportunity:

The Vice President, Field Development, plays a pivotal role in driving the organization’s fundraising success at the local level. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this leader is responsible for the overall strategy and total revenue raised in the field, overseeing the tools, resources, and guidance needed to empower regional fundraisers to build strong pipelines of local corporate and foundation partners. With deep expertise as a fundraising generalist, the VP provides strategic direction and hands-on support across multiple revenue streams, including corporate partnerships, third-party events, and foundation engagement. This includes developing high-impact fundraising materials—such as stewardship assets, toolkits, and corporate campaign templates—and ensuring regional teams have the knowledge and training to maximize local opportunities while honoring partner rights and benefits.

The VP also serves as a strategic advisor to regional staff, guiding proposal development and cultivating strategies that deepen relationships with donors and corporate partners. Collaborating closely with national Individual Giving, Direct Response, and Corporate/Foundation teams, they translate the national fundraising strategy into local activations and maintain partner agreement templates, establish best practices for tracking and reporting local fundraising activity, and ensure all secured contributions are accurately recorded. They monitor the local fundraising pipeline, deliver timely insights to leadership and the CRO, and play a key role in planning and executing donor councils and other stakeholder engagement opportunities.

    Responsibilities:

      • Strategically designing and implementing a cohesive development and donor stewardship plan across Operation Homefront’s three core regions. This plan must synergize with the national fundraising strategy and produce annual budgeted revenue results.
      • Identifying and cultivating opportunities to strengthen relationships with Corporate, Foundation, and Individual Donors.
      • Fostering a unified culture of philanthropy and progress to increase efficiency and consistency across Operation Homefront’s development processes. Ability to focus on strategic partnership building and cross-functional leadership, aligning diverse teams, and creating shared strategies to ensure all development activities support the entire organization’s mission and fundraising goals.
      • Activating relationships with Operation Homefront’s Regional Advisory Council to increase giving opportunities to the organization.

    Ideal Candidate:

      • Minimum 10 years leading strategic philanthropy planning and execution.
      • Demonstrated success leading a diverse team of regionally-positioned fundraisers in a chapter or affiliate model nonprofit.
      • Experience supporting change management initiatives that will expand the organization’s fundraising capacities in Individual, Corporate, Foundation, and Annual Giving.
      • Track record of meeting revenue goals and effectively managing expense budgets.
      • Close alignment with the Operation Homefront’s mission to support military and veteran families.
      • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
      • Familiarity with securing in-kind gifts.
      • Experience with mission delivery events with strong donor activation and on-site presence.
      • Experience working in a Military or Veteran Service Organization.
