We are dedicated to training socially aware and culturally responsive clinicians, researchers, and interventionists who engage across ecological levels, utilize evidence-based practices, and, in partnership with their communities, work to reduce inequities and enhance relationships, health, and well-being.The Couples and Family Therapy program, COAMFTE accredited since 2003, includes graduates representing 47 U.S. states and 31 countries. The program's mission is to provide an inclusive and equity-centered learning environment that produces ethical, skilled, research-informed and culturally competent couples and family therapists. Program faculty promote a strengths-based, systemic orientation and cohesive learning environment. Coursework occurs concurrently with direct clinical work, commencing with the observation of advanced students at the Center for Healthy Relationships, located within the University of Oregon's on-site interdisciplinary HEDCO Clinic, which comprises seven affiliated centers. The program is 90 credits and 7-terms leading to a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy.Position Summary The Couples and Family Therapy program in the College of Education is seeking to hire a career faculty member in the Teaching Professor category to support our COAMFTE-approved master's program. This position will be located at the University of Oregon Eugene campus. Primary responsibilities will include teaching/supervision, academic advising and support to graduate students, and service to the department, college, university, and/or profession. Additional opportunities may be available for academic leadership, practicum/internship coordination, and program improvement activities. This position includes contributing to the equity and inclusion goals of the program and college and incorporating inclusive practices into their work.Course content areas for teaching responsibilities may include theoretical foundations, Advanced Practicum/supervision, micro counseling skills, and courses in related areas (e.g., counseling). Areas of content expertise for the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer are open. This position is a nine-month Career Faculty position in the Teaching Professor category. The position's responsibilities are guided by the COE's Non-Tenure Track Professional Responsibilities Policy, United Academics' Collective Bargaining Agreement, and the COE's NTTF Policy for Promotion and Review. This Teaching Professor position reports to the Counseling Psychology and Human Services department head.Start Date: The position begins September 2025.Minimum Requirements Assistant Teaching Professor:

Doctoral degree in Couples and Family Therapy, or master's degree in CFT and PhD in a related field.

Documents expertise in areas required for program (e.g., content area of teaching, supervision), including AAMFT approved supervisor or approved supervisor eligibility.

Teaching experience in Couples and Family Therapy or related field.

Professional experience in Couples and Family Therapy.

LMFT license or LMFT license-eligible. To be considered for the rank of Assoicate Teaching Professor candidates must meet all the requirements of Assistant Teaching Professor rank plus:

Evidence of high-quality teaching and professional expertise in the field as related to position (e.g., teaching courses, presentations).

Experience participating in graduate education (e.g., doctoral committees, research supervision, advising).

Demonstrated service and/or leadership in the field, department, college, and/or university.

Documented program coordination or comparable leadership responsibilities and contributions to the graduate education program.

Scholarly contributions to the field (e.g., develop and publish teaching or clinical materials, publications in the practice literature; presentations).To be considered for the rank of Teaching Professor candidates must meet all the requirements of Assistant and Associate Teaching Professor rank plus:

Demonstrated leadership with expanded responsibilities in a variety of areas including but not limited to, curriculum development, program development, and program evaluation of the graduate education program.

Demonstrated broad scope of impact and audience of your scholarly activities (e.g., having a state or national office develop and publish teaching or clinical materials, publish in the practice literature, write grant applications).Professional Competencies

Ability to contribute positively to our community and work effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.

Ability to communicate effectively to foster community relations and support graduate student training.

Ability to teach a broad array of CFT and CPHS courses on topics such as micro counseling skills, clinical models, advanced practicum/supervision, and couples therapy.Preferred Qualifications

3 years of experience in clinical practice, teaching, advising, and student support.

A record of positive collaboration with community partners, externship sites, and students.

A record of quality mentoring, teaching, and advising in CFT or related discipline, including students and/or staff members from a broad range of different backgrounds.
