    What

    Data Driven Detroit (D3) has partnered with Mondo Unlimited to seek an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Data Analyst! This is a full-time, salaried position, with a starting salary range of $48,000 - $55,000 per year. We offer a number of benefits, including:

    This is primarily a remote position, with occasional attendance at in-person meetings or events. A desk in the D3 office is available should the selected candidate wish to work partially or entirely in-person.

    At D3, we work every day to improve access to information in Metro Detroit. Our efforts are led by our analytical team, who collaborates on a variety of projects to answer our partners’ questions. This team has diverse skillsets, that range from programming databases to conducting quantitative analysis. The Data Analyst will join this team, serving in a translating role between its research- and database-oriented components.

    • Regular collaboration with your co-workers on an ever-evolving suite of projects
    • Cleaning, transforming, and analyzing data
    • Creating data visualizations such as charts and interactive maps
    • Supporting D3’s outreach and engagement programs
    • Helping to strengthen and streamline our internal infrastructure.

    Who

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the fields of Data Science, Information Science, Urban Informatics, or the Social Sciences
    • Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel and experience working with structured datasets (e.g., database tables, CSVs)
    • Familiarity with SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) or programming languages like Python
    • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
    • Familiar with geographic and spatial analysis
    • Familiar with social science datasets, including the U.S. Census and American Community Survey
    • Able to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
    • Flexibility in adjusting workflow based on project needs
    • Willing to explore innovative, efficient solutions to problems
    • Able to manage individual deadlines and tasks as part of a project team
    • Curious about data and answering questions
    • Able to work effectively with people across racial, cultural, gender, and other identity characteristic differences
    • Lived experience and/or service that provides perspectives that support D3 in our mission, especially in serving populations that are under-represented in society at large
