We are currently in search of a Staff Accountant for a Pro-Choice Advocacy Organization. This is a full-time, permanent role with a hybrid schedule, based in Washington, DC.

The Staff Accountant will support the financial infrastructure of the organization, handling daily accounting tasks, journal entries, and reconciliations. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial operations and supports the organization’s mission advocating for reproductive freedom.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Solid understanding of A/R and A/P processes
• Proficiency with accounting software (Sage)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Team-oriented, proactive, and mission-aligned

How You Will Spend Your Day:

• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Perform journal entries and general ledger maintenance
• Reconcile bank statements and ledgers monthly
• Assist in financial reporting and preparing for audits
• Collaborate with external accountants and internal departments
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal policies
