    The Role

    Location: US remote/hybrid

    Reports to: EVP Strategic Operations & Finance

    Direct Reports: Two Senior HR Managersand one HR Generalist

    Position Summary: The Head of People & Culture will lead a department that includes talent management, compensation and benefits, and organizational development improvement practices for all global IRAP offices, in addition to overseeing the US human resources daily tasks including payroll, recruitment, benefits, union management, and organization’s culture and morale.

    They will bring a collaborative, human-centered approach to the people and culture function, and a labor union-friendly perspective that engages and motivates IRAP’s committed and passionate staff. The Head of People & Culture will be dedicated to building and maintaining an anti-oppressive organizational culture in a dynamic globalenvironment. They will coach, mentor and advise direct reports,peers, and senior/middle management on best-in-class talent management and organizational development practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Be the People & Culture leader at IRAP, taking an active responsibility for collaborative decision-making, proactive communication, and being the backstop to ensure a high quality of delivery in meeting all of the organization’s HR needs.
    • Use a human-centric approach to all HR global initiatives and policies by leading with integrity and empathy, and understanding differentcultures and lived experiences across offices.
    • Create a progressive/forward-looking strategicPeople and Culturevision, including a 3-5-year long-term plan.
    • Ensure best-practice global HR operations, across all offices, bringing a high level of cultural competency and developing a deep understanding of local laborlaws, regulations and nuances in each of the operatingcountries, while maintaining a lens of global equity.
    • Collaborate with all employees to oversee the development and implementation of forward-looking and positive employee relations programs,surveys, and recruitment/engagement/ retentionefforts.
    • Work in partnership with union representatives, as applicable.
    • Maintain an active commitment to advancing DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility) initiatives and visions at IRAP.
    • Interact and collaborate with all leadership team members to achieve the organization’s mission and goals.

    The Leader:

    • Minimum of 5 yearsof senior humanresources/people and cultureleadership experience.
    • Prior experience with a global mission-driven organization is required.
    • Experience supporting teams that span offices in multiple countries is required, US included. Experience managing Human Resources needs in Europe, Jordan, Lebanon is preferred.
    • Previous experience leading multinational human resources-related functions, including talent management, recruitment, global compensation and benefits, and organizational development improvement practices.
    • Experience in a unionizedenvironment, and with labor negotiations is a plus.

    Education:

    • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or GPHR certification preferred.

    Travel:

    • This position requirestravel 1-2 timesper year to each IRAP office includingbut not limitedto: Berlin, Beirut, Amman, and NY.
    • Other travel to work withconferences, for retreats,and to meet with partnersand/or donors may also be required. Travel minimum 4 weeks per year.
