The Arc Fayette seeks an Executive Director to lead a trusted community organization into its next chapter of service, growth, and impact.

Founded by local families in 1959, The Arc Fayette supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism in pursuing independence, choice, and belonging. Its services include early intervention, residential services, family living, in-home and community supports, adult training, supported employment, and behavior support.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership, with responsibility for organizational culture, service quality, financial health, regulatory compliance, and long-term sustainability.

The Opportunity

The next Executive Director will:

• Partner with the Board to establish strategic priorities, measurable goals, and sustainable plans.
• Build a respectful, inclusive workplace through communication, leadership development, staff engagement, and fair accountability.
• Oversee budgets, financial performance, organizational assets, and operational systems.
• Champion safe, person-centered services that protect individual rights, dignity, choice, and community participation.
• Maintain regulatory readiness and oversee quality improvement, incident management, and risk management.
• Develop productive relationships with individuals served, families, employees, funders, regulators, and community partners.
• Represent The Arc Fayette in advocacy and community settings.

Qualifications

Candidates must have either a master’s degree or higher with at least two years of experience in administration or human services, or a bachelor’s degree with at least four years of experience in those fields. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain all required state and federal clearances.

Preferred qualifications include senior leadership experience in services funded by Pennsylvania’s Office of Developmental Programs or comparable human services settings; knowledge of regulatory compliance and quality management; and experience overseeing budgets, audits, and teams across multiple locations.

The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, clear communication, strategic thinking, strong relationship skills, and a demonstrated ability to develop people and lead organizational change.

Location and Work Expectations

The position is based in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and includes regular visits to residential and program locations, meetings with Board members and external partners, occasional overnight travel, and availability outside normal business hours for urgent matters.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annually, with full benefits
