Philanthropy & Outreach Manager

KEES has been exclusively retained by Hawaii Youth Symphony in its search for a Philanthropy & Outreach Manager.

Hawaii Youth Symphony (HYS) seeks an energetic, hands-on, and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about our vision and who will be comfortable playing a vital role in strengthening avenues for philanthropy (contributed revenue) and community outreach/awareness. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Philanthropy & Outreach Manager (POM) will collaborate closely with the President and CEO, the COO, members of the Board of Directors, and staff to provide administrative support of our development department, management of our marketing and communications outreach, and coordination of HYS’ financial aid and scholarship program (both incoming revenue support and distribution of Financial Aid).

Some specific requirements include:

• A minimum of 3 years of nonprofit fundraising and communications experience, preferably with an organization serving the arts, youth, education, and/or social good.
• Creative, self-starter perspective; a humble desire to build relationships.
• Established and developing understanding of philanthropy (e.g. moves management, planned giving, federated funds, etc.)
• Proficiency with core social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Facebook, IG, etc.), WordPress (preferred), and Microsoft 365 (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and ability to utilize them as a tool in identifying and engaging donors and potential stakeholders.
• Prowess in problem-solving, creative thinking, and taking initiative with consistent and reliable follow-through.
• Much of this work takes place at the HYS offices (Located near King and Keeaumoku), but also occurs at performance venues, schools, and various community locations. Regular access to a car is essential, as the Philanthropy & Outreach Manager will frequently travel for events, donor and family meetings, and other work-related appointments.

Compensation will be determined based on experience and skills within the range of $65,000 – $75,000, along with strong benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; pet insurance; 401K with 5% employer match; paid maternity leave; vacation and sick time; and 18 paid holidays.
