    Bay Resistance Institute

    Senior Organizer

    About the Organization

Bay Resistance Network is a regional alliance of community organizations, labor unions, faith groups, and activist groups. The network originally formed in fall 2016 to resist Trump-era attacks on our communities, reconvened in fall 2023 to mobilize solidarity against the genocide in Gaza, and fully relaunched in 2024 to confront the renewed threats of a second Trump administration.

Together with our partners, we have organized dozens of actions, mass meetings, trainings, coordinating convenings, and monthly art builds. Our network includes more than 75 organizations serving impacted communities, with 20–40 organizations regularly convening to develop shared strategy and action priorities. Bay Resistance also maintains 150 distributed action pods and a base of 40,000 activists ready to plug into volunteer activities and campaigns.

    Position Overview

Bay Resistance seeks an experienced Senior Organizer to help lead our mass organizing and network development. The Senior Organizer leads our team to recruit, train, and develop volunteers; build and support action pods; and coordinate volunteer activity across the Bay Resistance network.

The Senior Organizer also builds strong relationships with network organizations to understand their work, assess how their members are impacted by current attacks, and connect them to shared campaigns and defense strategies.

Depending on skills and experience, this position may focus more heavily on network organizing, volunteer and pod organizing, or both. Additional responsibilities may include convening network organizations to develop shared strategy, leading distributed organizing and super-volunteer programs, building digital organizing infrastructure, coordinating immigrant rights work (including ICE Watch), and leading campaigns.

This position reports to the Organizing Director and may supervise organizers.

Bay Resistance Institute is a 501(c)(3) organization. This position is shared with our sister organization, Bay Resistance, a separate 501(c)(4).
