    Job description

    Sweet Grass is seeking a proactive and highly motivated individual to help support our numerous nonprofit clients who utilize Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and NPSP in the role of Implementation Manager. The person in this role will work under the supervision of the Implementation Director to support our team in planning, customizing, and managing Salesforce instances to fit our clients’ needs. A strong knowledge of Nonprofit Cloud and NPSP is required, and the ideal candidate will have direct experience and knowledge of working with nonprofit organizations and able to remain flexible and adaptable. This is a mid-level role with room for advancement as our team grows.

    Responsibilities

    Solutions Design & Architecture

    • Collaborate with clients to deeply understand their organizational goals, operational needs, and pain points.
    • Lead discovery sessions to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into thoughtful and scalable Salesforce solution designs even when working with ambiguous or evolving needs.
    • Design system architectures, including data models, user roles, automation strategies, and integrations, aligned with Nonprofit Cloud and NPSP best practices.
    • Evaluate and recommend Salesforce apps, tools, and integrations that enhance client solutions and deliver measurable impact.
    • Prototype, test, and iterate on solution designs to ensure they effectively meet client need, adapting quickly to shifting variables and client priorities.

    Salesforce Implementation & Administration

    • Utilize expertise as a Salesforce Administrator to plan and implement Salesforce instances on NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud, and other similar products, often navigating tight timelines and competing priorities.
    • Build automations and flows to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, experimenting with new features and troubleshooting as needed.
    • Direct seamless data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the process.
    • Employ standard and custom objects in Salesforce to create tailored solutions for clients.
    • Research, recommend, and implement integrations as needed while embracing the opportunity to learn new tools and expand technical knowledge.

    Project Management

    • Lead multiple projects simultaneously managing resources, timelines, and budgets effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
    • Work with the Implementation Director and team to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and mitigate risks to efficiently deliver projects.
    • Make good use of time by reevaluating workload, priorities, and client inquiries daily, thriving in environments where flexibility and quick pivots are essential.
    • Monitor project progress and address any issues or obstacles that may arise, ensuring successful project delivery through proactive problem-solving and continuous learning.

    Client Engagement & Capacity Building

    • Build strong, trust-based relationships with nonprofit clients, acting as both a strategic partner and technical advisor.
    • Provide training, coaching, and documentation to help clients effectively use and maintain their Salesforce systems.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and long-term value for each client, proposing enhancements and new solutions as their needs evolve.

    Qualifications

    Implementation Manager

    • Bachelor’s degree (or 4-5 years of direct experience)
    • 1-3 years of direct hands-on experience working as a Salesforce Administrator for a nonprofit organization using NPSP and/or NPC
    • Certified Salesforce Admin (required) and
    • Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant (required)
    • Strong working knowledge of Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud and NPSP, including standard and custom objects, automation, and data migration
    • Demonstrated ability to lead Salesforce implementations from requirements gathering to deployment to post-implementation support
    • Experience facilitating discovery sessions, documenting client needs, and translating them into Salesforce solutions
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; comfortable juggling multiple priorities and shifting client needs
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and provide training and support to clients
    • Curiosity and adaptability in exploring new tools, integrations, and approaches

    Senior Implementation Manager

    • Bachelor’s degree (or 5-7 years of direct experience)
    • 4+ years of direct hands-on experience working as a Salesforce Administrator for a nonprofit organization using NPSP (required) and NPC (required)
    • Certified Salesforce Admin (required) and
    • Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant (required)
    • Experience Cloud Consultant (preferred)
    • Advanced understanding of nonprofit operations and strategic technology use in mission-driven work
    • Proven success designing and leading complex Salesforce implementations or multi-phase projects
    • Experience mentoring team members/peers and leading internal initiatives to improve process or delivery
    • Strong solution architecture skills, including designing data models, user roles, automation strategies, and third-party integrations
    • Confident in advising clients strategically, managing relationships, and surfacing opportunities for long-term value
    • Ability to manage large workload, balance multiple client needs, and proactively problem-solve in evolving environment

    • Drives Results: Persistent in accomplishing goals and tasks despite obstacles and setbacks.
    • Commitment and Collaboration: Demonstrates dedication to the company’s goals through a strong work ethic, teamwork, a positive attitude, and a willingness to tackle challenges and coach others toward success.

    Benefits and compensation

    • This role is non-exempt, full-time status.
    • Yearly salary range: $58,000-$70,000 for Implementation Manager, and $71,000-$83,000 for Senior Implementation Manager, depending on experience.
    • Paid work hours for Salesforce certification and professional development.
    • After 6-months, benefits include 100% paid medical/vision/dental insurance, 4% match 401k, and 5 hours of accrued annual time. Upon hire, access to health/vision/dental insurance (self-paid), 80 hours of sick time, and paid holidays.
    • Our standard is a flexible work schedule with the expectation of 40 hours of work each week on your own schedule as long as client needs and deadlines are met.
    • Full-time employees receive all federal holidays off with pay and all business days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
    • Travel is not frequent but will be required 1-3 times per year.
