    About BetterAge

BellAge (doing business as BetterAge) is a public-benefit company helping older adults live healthier, more connected, and more purposeful lives. Funded by a multi-year NIH/NIA SBIR Phase II grant, we are building an innovative digital platform that measures whole-person wellbeing, delivers personalized guidance, and supports real behavior change at scale. We partner with USAging, senior centers, and volunteer caregiving organizations nationwide.

    The Role

This position blends research, writing, and human-centered design. You will help translate scientific insights into questions, tips, and recommendations that older adults actually want to read—and act on. You will play a key role in shaping the content we send each week to hundreds of participants in our national study and pilot programs.

You will work closely with our Chief Innovation Officer (Jim Firman, former CEO of NCOA), Chief Immersion Officer (Ron Kaiser), and a small, dynamic startup team committed to changing how America ages.

    Key Responsibilities

    Content Development & Participant Engagement

    • Develop and refine probing questions, multiple-choice responses, and hyper-personalized recommendations across multiple wellbeing domains such as sleep, nutrition, purpose, and social connection.
    • Write and test engaging weekly messages that encourage older adults to take small, achievable steps toward their goals.
    • Curate and maintain a structured database of “great solutions” (digital programs, community activities, and evidence-based tools) for personalized guidance.
    • Organize content using tags, structures, logic tables, and metadata so that the tech team can translate it efficiently into software and algorithms.
    • Analyze participant feedback to improve clarity, tone, and motivational impact of content.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Immersion Officer to design communication sequences, micro-nudges, and success stories that build momentum and self-efficacy.

    Research & Coordination

    • Coordinate and support expert panel meetings and stakeholder discussions, summarizing key insights and translating them into actionable guidance.
    • Assist with participant follow-up and documentation for NIH reporting.
    • Prepare concise research briefs, funder updates, and presentation slides.

    Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in Gerontology, public health, Social/Behavioral Sciences, Health Communication, or related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in related research assistance, health communication, or program/content development.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills; able to translate research into plain, motivating language.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
    • Strong skills with Google Workspace, SurveyMonkey or Qualtrics, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
    • Experience organizing structured content using tags, metadata, or logic tables preferred.
    • Familiarity with IRB, research ethics, or health studies helpful.
    • Bonus points for experience working with older adults, caregivers, or volunteer-based organizations.
    • Interest and willingness to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
    • Ability to participate in regular on-camera zoom calls.

    Work Setup & Compensation

    • Full-time, exempt; remote (U.S.-based).
    • Occasional travel for meetings or workshops (0–10%).
    • Salary: $55,000–$70,000, commensurate with experience.

    Compensación

    Limited

    Nivel de Idiomas
