CIMA Hospice is one of the best volunteer positions anyone can do. It’s not about where you live, how old you are, your educational background, what you have or don’t have. We provide the training; you provide your time. Although it’s sometimes sad, volunteering with hospice is not depressing. Hospice volunteers have jobs that are full of joy and laughter, hope and sharing. Assignments may require a minimal time commitment, such as a short telephone call once a week; or a greater time commitment, such as visiting the patient weekly for a few hours - you tell us what works for you.
This work is deeply meaningful, because the gift of presence is the greatest gift we can give to another. No matter how you help, it’s impossible to overstate how much this support means to the patient and family and to the Hospice team working with them.
