ECHO Hospice of Pennsylvania, LLC

Echo Hospice is an agency with roots back to the early beginnings of the Hospice Movement, but the office supporting eastern Pennsylvania opened in 2021. We support 5 counties (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia), delivering this special kind of care, where the patient's comfort is the main focus.

Volunteers play a vital role in hospice care. They provide companionship and help with activities that enhance quality of life, while bringing true joy to patients facing terminal illnesses. Or, Volunteers are present to patients, sitting quietly, so the patient isn't alone, while they are doing their work of transitioning. Volunteers are also available to ease the patient's family's burdens associated with end-of-life care, offering respite and support.

We welcome other ways to be involved: Massage, Aroma, Reiki and Pet Therapies. Soft music is a powerful intervention, when played at the bedside of a patient, by a talented guitarist and/or vocalist. Veterans are needed to support the Veterans under our care, as these patients may have things to say that only another military background could understand. • No medical knowledge is necessary.
• You just have to be a nice person, willing to support strangers... Well, strangers at first, but through repeat visits, the relationship can be what you make it.
• And you need to have patience, and allow the interactions be about the moment.
