In 2016, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo set a goal to meet 30% of New York State’s energy needs with renewable resources by 2025. In 2017 it is no longer just a goal, but a federal mandate. As Long Island’s leading service-driven solar firm, the New York State Solar mission is to remove the barriers commonly associated with solar ownership and educate the public on the unique NY-Sun and P.A.C.E. programs positioned to promote the expansion, usage, and ownership of solar energy systems. These unique programs coupled with additional federal and state tax incentives make solar energy the most environmentally and economically sustainable renewable energy option in today’s energy market. As a NGO, NYSS works to implement these state and federal programs through people power, education and social responsibility across Long Island.
