    Ignite Talks is a 5-week webinar series organized by the International Youth Alliance for Peace (IYAP), bringing together young people, academics, and peace practitioners across South Asia. Through dialogue and mentorship, we explore how youth can help rebuild societies after conflict.

    Why Attend:

    • Learn from case studies drawn from Sri Lanka, Rwanda, Nepal, and South Africa
    • Discuss transitional justice, reconciliation, identity, memory, and digital peacebuilding
    • Gain practical skills to lead peer dialogue and reconciliation initiatives

    Structure & Schedule:

    • Session 1: The Memory of Conflict — What Does Reconciliation Really Mean?
    • Session 2: Transitional Justice and the Youth Question
    • Session 3: Language, Identity & Belonging — Breaking Silos
    • Session 4: Digital Peacebuilding — Media and Countering Division
    • Session 5: From Dialogue to Action — Youth as Architects of Reconciliation

    Mentorship Track:

    Participants who attend all five sessions are eligible for a post-webinar mentorship. As part of this track, they'll:

    • Create a 1-minute “My Peace Lens” video reflection
    • Present a 3–5 minute recorded talk on a peace theme
    • Lead a mini-dialogue circle with 15–20 peers
    • Submit reflection logs and give feedback after each session

    Recognition:

    Graduates will be certified as Student Mentors for Peace (valid for 3–6 months) under IYAP.

    Impact Goals:

    • Engage 500+ youth across South Asia
    • Train 100+ certified peer mentors
    • Foster cross-border understanding among students

    Who Should Join:

    Undergraduate students, youth activists, emerging peacebuilders, and anyone interested in reconciliation, justice, and social healing.

    Organized by International Youth Alliance for Peace (IYAP), with support from the Office for National Unity & Reconciliation (ONUR), University of Peradeniya, and peace networks across South Asia.

    This is an online event hosted on Zoom. We recommend joining from a laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection to fully participate in discussions and interactive activities.

    Participants are encouraged to attend all five sessions to qualify for the Ignite Mentorship Pathway and certification as a Student Mentor for Peace under IYAP.
