Disaster Action Team Info Session & Introductory Training
When a home fire or other disaster strikes, a compassionate volunteer can make all the difference.
Disaster Action Team volunteers are often the first American Red Cross volunteers to support families after a home fire or other local disaster. They provide emotional support, practical assistance, and information about available resources during a time of crisis.
As part of Make a Difference Day, the American Red Cross and First United Methodist Church in Wenatchee are inviting community members to learn more about this important volunteer role and begin their training.
During this free event, participants will:
- Learn how the Red Cross supports local families after home fires and other disasters
- Gain an introduction to the Disaster Action Team volunteer role
- Begin volunteer training by completing two introductory Red Cross courses during the session
- Connect with others interested in serving their community
- Learn the next steps for becoming a Red Cross volunteer
No previous disaster response experience is required. Training and support will be provided.
