B.Y.O.B-Building Your Own Business

We are currently seeking passionate volunteer speakers, photographers, videographers, and more to support our Build Your Own Business Workshop! We currently have speakers secured for May 2nd, 16th, and 30th, but are still seeking volunteers for other roles on those dates. This initiative will take place two Saturdays each month, and we are actively seeking volunteers for all positions, including speakers for the remainder of the year. We welcome speakers from all areas of business operations, including human resources, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, logistics, and more. Dates and locations will be provided upon confirmation. If you’re ready to give back, share your expertise, and make an impact, we’d love to connect with you!

Starting a business is an exciting step toward financial independence, but many entrepreneurs begin their journey without the proper guidance, structure, or strategy. The BYOB (Building Your Own Business) Workshop was created to help aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs gain the knowledge and clarity needed to launch and grow a successful business the right way.

This workshop provides a practical roadmap that walks participants through the essential foundations of building a legitimate and sustainable business. Rather than guessing your way through the process, attendees will learn the critical steps, legal structure considerations, planning strategies, and financial fundamentals that every business owner should understand from the start.

During this workshop, participants will explore the 11 key steps to starting a business, understand why a business plan is essential for long-term growth, and learn the importance of properly structuring their business entity to protect themselves and position their company for success. The workshop will also highlight the importance of proper bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping, helping business owners understand how maintaining organized financial records supports accurate tax reporting, compliance, and better financial decision-making.

For the best experience, attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop, tablet, or iPad so they can actively participate in the exercises and begin working on key elements of their business during the workshop. This hands-on approach will help you leave not only with knowledge, but with real progress toward launching or structuring your business.
