Join Great River Greening at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park! This park is famous for its beautiful “Big Woods” forest and is home to the federally endangered Dwarf Trout Lily: one of the few places in Minnesota where this rare plant still survives. Volunteers will help remove invasive Garlic Mustard as part of our ongoing efforts to protect and restore the critical habitat this fragile species depends on.
Participants will receive a detailed map to the exact location. Look for and follow GRG signage.
Parking will be available nearby. We will send additional details and directions in the weeks leading up to the event. Watch for event update emails from GivePulse and Great River Greening.
Safety: Ensuring safety is our highest priority. It is important that event participants wear close-toed shoes and long sleeves to protect against the elements. We recommend dressing for the weather; layers are key.
