The Community Action School is committed to serving an academically and culturally diverse student body. All Community Action School students receive a rigorous, challenging educational program aligned with the New York State performance standards.
We believe:
- to be able to meet all of our students' learning needs, teachers must be constantly growing in professional knowledge
- an inclusion model works best for most special education students
- middle school students need fair and clearly articulated guidelines for their behavior, as well as a supportive, warm, and accessible support network in the school
- it is the school's responsibility to work with the whole student, serving his/her academic and emotional needs.
