Greater Prince William MRC

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of local groups of volunteers committed to improving the health, safety and resiliency of their communities. MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals, as well as other professionals and community members interested in strengthening the public health infrastructure and improving the preparedness and response capabilities of their local jurisdiction. MRC units identify, screen, train and organize the volunteers, and utilize them to support routine public health activities and augment preparedness and response efforts.

The Greater Prince William Medical Reserve Corps recruits for practicing, retired or otherwise employed medical professionals, as well as, community members with non-medical skills. Physicians, pharmacists, nurses, epidemiologists, dentists, and paramedics are just a sampling of the medical community that has been tapped for service. Clergy, translators, administrative assistants, IT personnel, and other members without a medical background are also encouraged to consider becoming a part of our unit.
