    Vision Statement: Boulder County values and provides opportunities for active participation of its residents in voluntary partnerships that enhance and enrich government services and the quality of life in the community. Philosophy Statement: Boulder County government is a partnership between its residents and the individuals and departments that are charged with the responsibility of carrying out the functions of local government. To ensure that residents have opportunities for meaningful and effective engagement in local government operations, professional standards in volunteer management are accepted as the guidelines for best practices.

    We recruit and place volunteers and interns in a variety of volunteer positions for Community Justice Services and the District Attorney's (20th Judicial) office in Boulder County . Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing services to crime victims and juvenile and adult offenders. Our volunteer partners are essential in helping us maintain an open and responsive criminal justice system.

    What Do Volunteers Do?

    Provide support and information to crime victims and witnesses

    Be a mentor to high-risk youth who need extra attention

    Help people with consumer fraud complaints

    Assist with research/data entry on incarceration rates and program outcomes

    Teach ESL, HSE and life skills classes to incarcerated community members
